Taking off the garment
One of the rituals of Eid night is taking pie (contribution) by the elders to the houses of their close relatives. For example, the father of the family gives "pai" to his married daughters, or brothers to their sisters and nieces. "Pie" consists of khorsht rice, burani and all the foods prepared for the night of Eid and some cloth or clothing. This collection is placed in a large copper tray and covered with tapestry or embroidered cloth and a member of the family puts the tray on the head and carries it carefully.
The person who cuts the pie is given a gift such as a shirt, socks, dyed eggs, cash, etc. The sight of carrying a tray and colorful cloths thrown on it at sunset on the last day of the year is very interesting and spectacular. On the night of Eid, the alleys and streets are often filled with this "pie". This ceremony is still held in some villages of Zanjan province.
